GLP-1 medicines now come as a daily tablet as well as an injection. GLPMGR tracks them the same way it tracks injections: each tablet, your dose steps, reminders and how you’re feeling. Each tablet has its own rules about how to take it, so below they are in each leaflet’s own words, with a link to the document. This page is not medical advice.

Foundayo (orforglipron)

How to take it, in the leaflet’s words:

  • “Take Foundayo by mouth 1 time each day, with or without food.”
  • “Swallow tablets whole. Do not break, crush, or chew the tablet.”
  • “Do not take more than 1 tablet per day.”

If a dose is missed, the leaflet says: “If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. Do not take 2 doses of Foundayo in the same day.”

Wait before eating: The leaflet gives no wait before eating, so GLPMGR shows no countdown.

  • “The starting dosage is 0.8 mg orally once daily. After at least 30 days on the 0.8 mg dosage, increase the dosage to 2.5 mg once daily.”

How to take it, in the leaflet’s words:

  • “Take 1 Wegovy tablet by mouth on an empty stomach in the morning with water (no more than 4 ounces). Do not take Wegovy tablets with any other liquids besides water.”
  • “Do not split, crush, chew or dissolve Wegovy tablets. Swallow Wegovy tablets whole.”
  • “Do not take more than 1 Wegovy tablet each day.”
  • “After 30 minutes, you can eat, drink, or take other oral medicines.”

If a dose is missed, the leaflet says: “If you miss a dose of Wegovy, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule for the next dose.”

Dose steps, in the product information’s words:

  • “The recommended starting dosage of WEGOVY tablets is 1.5 mg taken orally once daily.”
  • “Days 1 through 30: 1.5 mg. Days 31 through 60: 4 mg. Days 61 through 90: 9 mg. Day 91 and onward (maintenance): 25 mg.”
  • “If patients do not tolerate a dose during dosage escalation, consider delaying dosage escalation.”

Using it with another GLP-1 medicine: “Concomitant use of WEGOVY (semaglutide) tablets or WEGOVY (semaglutide) injection with other semaglutide-containing products or with any other GLP-1 receptor agonist is not recommended.”

Switching between the injection and the tablet:

  • “Patients taking WEGOVY 2.4 mg injection for cardiovascular risk reduction or weight reduction in adults may switch to WEGOVY 25 mg tablets.”
  • “One week after discontinuing WEGOVY 2.4 mg injection, initiate 25 mg of WEGOVY tablets orally once daily.”
  • “The day after discontinuing WEGOVY tablets 25 mg once daily, initiate WEGOVY 2.4 mg subcutaneous injection once weekly.”

Rybelsus (semaglutide)

How to take it, in the leaflet’s words:

  • “Take your Rybelsus tablet on an empty stomach after a recommended fasting period of at least 8 hours.”
  • “Swallow your Rybelsus tablet whole with a sip of water (up to 120 mL).”
  • “Do not split, crush or chew the tablet, as it is not known if it affects absorption of semaglutide.”
  • “After taking your Rybelsus tablet wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking other oral medicines.”

If a dose is missed, the leaflet says: “If you forget to take a dose, skip the missed dose and just take your normal dose the next day.”

  • “The starting dose is one 3 mg tablet once a day for one month. After one month, your doctor will increase your dose to one 7 mg tablet once a day.”
  • “Your doctor will instruct you to stay on a dose for minimum one month before increasing to a higher dose. Your doctor may increase your dose to one 14 mg tablet once a day if your blood sugar is not controlled well enough with a dose of 7 mg once a day.”
  • “1.5, 4 and 9 mg tablets: The starting dose is one 1.5 mg tablet once a day for one month. After one month, your doctor will increase your dose to one 4 mg tablet once a day. Your doctor may increase your dose to one 9 mg tablet once a day if your blood sugar is not controlled well enough with a dose of 4 mg once a day.”

  • “Day 1 to 30: Recommended starting dosage is 3 mg orally once daily for 30 days (this dosage is not effective for glycemic control).”
  • “Days 31 to 60: Increase the dosage to 7 mg orally once daily.”

Questions people ask

Can I track orforglipron (Foundayo) in GLPMGR?

Yes. Choose Orforglipron (Foundayo) when you set up your medicine, add the dose steps your prescriber gave you, and log each tablet in a few taps. GLPMGR shows the Medication Guide's wording on how to take it and reminds you when it's due.

Does GLPMGR work for the Wegovy pill and Rybelsus?

Yes. Both are semaglutide as a tablet, and GLPMGR tracks them the same way: each tablet, your dose steps and reminders, with each leaflet's wording on how to take it.

Is orforglipron the same as semaglutide?

No. Rybelsus and the Wegovy pill are semaglutide as a tablet. Foundayo (orforglipron) is a different GLP-1 medicine that only comes as a tablet.

Does GLPMGR tell me when I can eat after my tablet?

Where the leaflet gives a wait before eating, GLPMGR counts it down after you log the tablet: 30 minutes for the Wegovy pill and Rybelsus, in the countries whose leaflet we've checked. The Foundayo Medication Guide says it can be taken with or without food, so there's no countdown for it.

Does GLPMGR tell me what dose to take, or what to do if I miss one?

No. GLPMGR follows the dose steps you enter and shows the leaflet's own words about missed doses. It never works out or recommends a dose. Always follow your doctor, nurse or pharmacist.

Can I switch from injections to tablets?

Yes. If your prescriber moves you from an injection to a tablet, change your medicine in GLPMGR. It checks it's the one you meant and marks the change in your history and your report.
