Where GLPMGR’s injection areas come from

GLPMGR only offers and draws injection areas that a medicine’s manufacturer lists, using the approved product information for your region. This page shows the list for each medicine and region and the document it was taken from.

Talk to a healthcare professional. The injection areas shown come from the manufacturer's product information, and the heat map is your own record. GLPMGR is not a medical device and this is not medical advice: it can't tell you where it is safe for you to inject. Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse about where and how to inject, follow the instructions from your prescriber and the leaflet supplied with your medicine, and ask a healthcare professional if you are unsure, or if you have pain, lumps, bruising or any other problem at an injection site.

How the app uses this

  • Only the areas listed for your medicine, in your region, can be chosen or shown on the body map.
  • Where the manufacturer says another person should inject an area, or to keep a distance from the belly button, the app shows that beside the area.
  • Your injection history only colours the body map to show where you have injected before. It never adds an area, and GLPMGR does not tell you where to inject next.
  • If we don’t hold a verified list for a medicine in your region, GLPMGR doesn’t offer a site. This includes compounded medicines, which the manufacturer’s instructions don’t cover, and medicines you type in yourself.
  • A medicine named only by its active ingredient gets a list only when every product with that ingredient sold in your region has a verified list and they all give the same rules.
  • Earlier injections recorded at other sites, such as the glutes, stay in your history but are not shown on the map.

Which documents

The United Kingdom lists come from the UK product information on the electronic medicines compendium (emc). The European Union lists come from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) product information. The United States lists come from FDA-approved labels. The rules can differ between regions, so GLPMGR uses only the region you choose in Settings, or your device’s region. Where a region’s document has not been checked yet, or is being re-checked because it changed, it says so below and no sites are offered. Every list is checked again against its source regularly, and GLPMGR stops using any list that has not been re-checked in over a year.
